Don’t look directly at him!

So this weekend, my baby, (ok 7 year old) competed for the first time in a TaeKwonDo event! We had to get up at the crack of dawn, to get to the venue at half past the crack of dawn, get checked in 4 hours before we had to do anything, and prepare ourselves for a day of………………waiting, and waiting! Seriously, I should get the gold metal in the 40 year old waiting catagory! I waited with my back in horrible pain, but could not participate in the taking of pain killing drugs because I had to be a bored, wait no……board holder. Yes Yes, I am sure it was the second kind, the second one involved wood right??? I was involved in the one where wood was held! and to be honest, I was mostly the first one, and I didn’t even make an effort to hide it.

So the moment finally arrives, we go down to the board holding/breaking area, my son bows to the judges, then pow pow pow, three boards broken, another bow, and he is done. WHEWWW so then, I look at the judges for the scores, one judge did not give my son a fair score, that little asswipe!  let him get up and break the board, anyway, whatever!  So we are not sure if my son is in first or second place, 2 boys got the exact same score, and the exact same letter score, so we have to wait until we get up to the podium. They call out the boys names and GUESS WHAT, ALEX CAME IN 1ST PLACE, THE GOLD MEDAL, the highest spot on the podium, AND THE CROWD GOES WILD, ok just me but whatever, so out of 6 in his category, he was the ULTIMATE board breaker! Oh an FYI on that asswipe judge, he won best kickass black belt there or some stupid category, he might be pretty decent,  again whatever!

So after some more waiting, we go on to our final event, which is sparring, we didn’t even place! I think the judge didn’t like us, probably had it in for us cause we are so cool, he didn’t want the cool kid to win ALL the awards, or maybe Alex just didn’t do very well, but it was probably the first thing.
