Not a fan…used to be…but not any more!

So pretty much all my life I have LOVED snow!  I remember being young and snow would be forcast and all of the adults would be so negative, and I remember thinking that they were insane!  What could be more fun than a day out of school, playing outside all day, and drinking homemade hot chocolate (the only time we got the good stuff was a snow day).  Well guess what, I now understand their agony!  See, it’s not so much about the snow, as it is about the expectation of the children (my spouse is included in the children catagory for this).  They want YOU to go out in the COLD, snowy snow!  IN IT, ON IT, UNDER IT, ATOP OF IT and they mean business.  For me, a big window, a hot cup of coffee, nice soft pajamas, warm robe, and I am good!  That is a perfect snow day.  For my son to have a perfect snow day, I need to be somehow involved.  I need to be the target for his snowballs, the trail maker for the trails game, I need to see it, and feel it, and well I DON’T WANNA!

We took our son to a huge hill in a nice park with 500 other people,  first time down the hill he sits and rides, second time down he is on his knees, third time down he stands up, leans back and hoots and whoo hooos all the way down.  Good Grief.  I on the other hand have zero desire to go down, get my pants wet, then climb back up the hill and have a small heart attack, I don’t know just doesn’t seem to appeal to me!  My spouse has gone down a billion times with the boy, each trip up a bit slower, little more effort to make it to the top each trip, finally he says “this has to be the last time” off they go, to make it back up the hill the final trip is 2 hours 47 minutes, but “gosh it was so fun” WHAT EVER!

But being the awsome mom that I am, I made snow paint!  and now I think I am getting sick!  I am so not a fan of snow, or cold, or chilly, or nippy, or brrrrrrrr.
